TheresaMCGOWANof Burnley Road, Edenfield, Ramsbottom passed away at home on September 5, aged 90 years. Theresa began her working life in The Mill, working at Porrits in Stubbins, Lumb and Mullards. She worked for several years as a dinner lady at Edenfield School before enjoying work with elderly people at Horncliffe and Ash Cottage Care Homes. A keen writer, she was a member of Burnley writers for many years, she was also a member of Edenfield WI. Theresa loved art and going to the theatre. Theresa was also a member of St Joseph’s RC Church in Ramsbottom all her life. Beloved wife of Jim McGowan who passed away in 2014, mother to Jane, mother-in-law to John and grandchildren Daniel, Olivia and Harriet. One of 10 children, Theresa leaves sisters Margaret and Florence, sister-in-law Pam, nieces and nephews and many friends. A funeral will be held on September 27 at St Joseph’s Ramsbottom, conducted by Father Paul, followed by a cremation at Accrington Crematorium at 11am. Family flowers only, donations to Rossendale Hospice.
