I would like to share some fond memories of my dear brother-in-law John, who left us all too soon. He was unassuming, never craving the limelight - but was a constant reassuring presence. As a nervous bride 6 years ago I was glad to have his arm to cling to, as we walked down a grand staircase to my wedding ceremony, where John 'gave me away' in place of my late father.
Many years earlier I remember watching him with pride as he ran in half-marathons like the 'Great North Run' from Newcastle to South Shields. It's hard for me to remember a time when John was not part of our family, so his untimely passing feels like losing a brother. May he rest in peace xx
