AliceMCLAUGHLINMiss Alice Teresa McLaughlin died peacefully on Thursday, August 4, age 59. Alice, who was originally from Belfast, came to England in the 1970s with her family and attended Holy Family High School. In her working life, she worked at the Hollies Residential Home and The Woodlands Care Home, Clayton-le-Moors, before working as a home help for Lancashire County Council. After living and raising a family in Accrington, Alice moved to Stroud in Gloucester in 2000. There she worked up until the present day for Boots as a Medicine Dispenser. She enjoyed tending to her garden, music, holidays, especially cruises, and social events with her friends and family. Alice mostly enjoyed visiting her family in Accrington, especially her four grandchildren. A devoted Mum to John and Anthony, super proud Nanny to Phoebe, Katie, Alfie and Theo, youngest sister to Roisin, Eileen, Maura, Michael, Timothy and Peter, and loving partner to Paul, mother-in-law to Joanne and Kay. Alice also had many friends and work colleagues who will miss her dearly. She will leave a hole in our hearts which can never be filled. A Requiem Mass will be held for Alice on Friday, August 19 at 1.15pm at St Mary’s Church, Clayton-le-Moors, followed by a burial at Dill Hall Cemetery at 2.30pm, led by Fr Ian Farrell. Family flowers only and donations can be made to Marie Curie c/o funeral director Hyndburn Funeral Services, Accrington.
