SusanMCLOUGHLINPeacefully surrounded by her loving family at Hope House Nursing Home on Sunday, September 12 at 2.51pm, Susan Mary Ann Mcloughlin, aged 67, of Clayton-le-Moors and formerly of Chatham, Kent. The devoted and much loved wife of Greg, dearly loved mum of Ian and Julie, dear mother-in-law of Lisa and Sam, adored daughter of Helen and the late Douglas, cherished grandma of Jessica, Hannah, Ellie, Lyndie and Joanna, great-grandma of Riley-Jay and Bella, dear sister of Peter, Beverley, Janette, Sandra and Paula and a highly respected relative and friend to all who knew her. Sue spent her working life in the financial world, working for various bank, building society and post office branches over the years. With her amazing ability with numbers and keen eye for detail Sue was always a highly respected member of her working team. She was a well known face in the local community and wherever she went, Sue would be recognised by one of her customers. Sue had the ability to turn her hand to any task and over the years had crafted many amazing and beautiful celebration cakes. She was known locally as ‘Patchwork Susie’ and ran the Patchwork class for U3A at Enfield Cricket Club. Sue loved to give her time to others and took great pride in her volunteer roles as treasurer for Great Harwood Mothers Club and her work in the Saints and Lady’s charity shop. Sue loved her home and was an active neighbour within the close knit community at Owen Court where each year her immaculate garden would bloom in full colour. Most of all Sue was the proudest family lady who adored her children and grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at Accrington Crematorium at 3pm on Thursday, September 23. Please wear something bright and cheerful to reflect the vibrant lady that Sue was. Family flowers only please; donations can be made in memory of Sue on behalf of Brain Tumour Research.
