RitaMCLOUGHLINIt is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rita Mcloughlin who passed away aged 85 years old on November 19 at Pennine View Care home Accrington, after a short illness. Originally from Great Harwood, Rita lived in Accrington but always wanted to return to Great Harwood. She previously worked as a weaver and on the school dinners at Accrington Moorhead High School, as well as being a factory worker at Priestley Footwear in Gt Harwood before her retirement. Rita loved to socialise and used to enjoy visiting the Marlborough club with her late husband Kevin as well as many social events and holidays spent with her friends and family over the years. Rita leaves her youngest brother Douglas and children Sandra, Adele and Jason, grandchildren Emma, Patrick, Sami, Lucy, Elloise, Cathrin and Olly along with great grandchildren Cameron, Adam, Ryley, Myla, Luca and Ayda. A requiem mass for Rita will be held on Wednesday, December 6 2023 at St Wulstan’s Church Gt Harwood at 10am before a burial in Gt Harwood cemetery at 11.15am. Family flowers only please.
