Pamela AnnMCMANUSof Beaumaris Close, Haslingden - formerly Holcombe Road, Helmshore - died at Royal Blackburn Hospital, aged 77. Born on May 8, 1942, Pam was a retired Mental Health Sister, having worked in Prestwich and Hope Hospitals. She retired around 20 years ago. Pam was an active volunteer in her postretirement years for the local luncheon club, the Credit Union and she was also a volunteer driver and companion for vulnerable patients in need locally. She was a Rossendale councillor for a threeyear spell in the late 90s. Having lost her eldest son Mark to cancer earlier this year, she is survived by her husband John and her children Simon and Jessica. She also has five grandchildren and a large extended family. The funeral took place on Monday, January 6 at 1pm, at Accrington Crematorium. Donations to Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary, or the British Red Cross would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
