Such a tragic loss. What a great all rounder. Clever, witty and funny with a never say die attitude. I have fond memories of our antics as students and after and don’t know how we got away with it. RIP Matt always in my thoughts

So very sad to hear of what has happened, I was only thinking about you the week before and wondering how you were getting on. You were probably the funniest man I've ever met, we had some great laughs and I will never forget them. Rest in Peace, you will be missed.

Very sad and unexpected news. I'll be forever grateful to Matthew for giving me the opportunity and chance to progress my career with HSBC. Always encouraging and supportive, a very funny man with a dry sense of humour. A fellow Leeds United supporter, we had lots to talk and laugh about........ RIP Matt

Matthew, larger than life and one of the best people I have ever worked with; we bonded over cat talk and Slippers antics. I can't believe you have left the world so early. You will leave a hole. - Emma (Cridmeister General)
