BernardMCRORYLong time Marnhull resident, Bernard McRory, passed away peacefully, at the age of 89, after bravely living with cancer. A loving husband of almost 60 years to Audrey, father to Paul and Anne (Field), father-in-law to Anne and Malcolm, grandfather to Millie, Charlie, Emily, Jamie and Alice. A dear and gentle man, born in Fleetwood, Lancashire, he was proud of his Irish and Lancashire roots. He served in all three UK armed forces, seeing active service in Palestine and Libya in the late '40s with the 4/7RDG. Subsequently he worked for many years as an electronic engineer with EMI, in Hayes. To know him was to love him, and he will be sorely missed by all generations of our family and his many friends at home, where he was known for his wit, friendship, community spirit, storytelling, singing talent and dislike of tomatoes!. His cremation will be at Yeovil Crematorium (sadly restricted to family only) on 26th June 2020. If anyone feels able to donate to Cancer Research UK, you will have our deepest thanks.
