Barry JohnMEAKINBarry passed away at The Laurels Nursing Home, Spondon on Tuesday 7th January 2025, aged 84 years. A devoted husband of Carol, Loving father to Steven and Mandy, dear grandfather to Harry, Sally, Esther and Dougie. Father-in-law to Amber and Mark. Many thanks to Michelle, Sheila and all the team at The Laurels, for their loving care of Barry. A funeral service for Barry will be held on Friday 7th February at Trent Valley Crematorium, Aston on Trent, at 3.30pm. Family flowers only please. Donations may be given at the service, in lieu of flowers, to support Parkinsons UK. All enquiries to: Central Coop funeral, 113 Victoria Avenue, Borrowash, Derby. DE72 3HF. Tel: 01332 661595

Sad to read this. I was an NEI International Combustion Apprentice and, worked with Baz on a number of his sites. Big tough guy with a good heart. Always took time with me as a youngster.
Bumped into him about 10 years ago and he was genuinely interested to understand what i’d been up to.
Baz - RIP big guy. Thanks for the early years development and memories.
To his family - my sincere condolences on the loss. He was a good man.
