Sir, had my respect as a teacher, admiration as a musician and he could play football. Never forgotten.

To the best teacher I ever met. Mr Meek was an inspiration to a teacher that was inspired to try and become one just as good as he is/was. I never thought Folk music would be my ‘thing’ but I was wrong, as he proved. I am gutted he is no longer around and my sympathies go to his family who must be way more gutted than I am. There are some people who just by being on the Earth make it seem to spin correctly on its axis, that’s what Bill Meek did for me.

So saddened by Bill’s death! He was a well-liked colleague and a man of many talents. Whatever he put his mind to, he had to be the best, whether in the quiz arena, on a treasure hunt, in the classroom, on the folk singing stage or in writing musicals. A raconteur supreme, he will be missed.

Sad, sad news, a long life well lived. Saw him at Caistor Folk club about 1970 as an impressionable teenager. Never forgotten. Much love to Bill and Steve carrying the Meek name onwards. Bless you all. Donk xx
