BettyMELDRUM(Jarrow) Peacefully on 23rd November 2024 aged 96 years, Betty (nee Gallagher). Beloved wife of the late John. Loving mam of Anne, John and David. Much loved nan of Catherine, David, Chris and Mark.

Family and friends please meet for Requeim Mass at St Matthews R C Church on Wednesday 18th December at 10am followed by cremation at South Shields

The lovely Mrs Meldrum. Taught me at Newcastle college some 40 years ago. I had surgery and she sent me a card and bought me a cassette of my favourite artist. Inside she wrote "look forward to seeing your happy, smiling face around college soon". I have never forgotten her kindness. She taught medical shorthand, typing. I went on to gain a medical secretarial diploma and worked for 15 years for GP's. Such a lovely, kind, clever lady. I have never forgotten her. Thank you for your wisdom and teaching. RIP
