Ian ColinMELLERof Moss Hall Road passed away on November 27, aged 79 years. Ian worked as a mobile crane driver, firstly for Griffiths Crane Hire during the 70s and 80s and later for Great Harwood Crane Hire. During the early 80s he worked as a coach driver for B. Sandiford’s and Bracewell’s of Great Harwood. Before retiring, Ian drove HGV for Warburtons Burnley and several local contractors. Ian spent many years holidaying abroad with his wife Janet. They enjoyed dancing to Rock and Roll and frequented many of the towns WM Clubs together. They enjoyed being outdoors and walking through the Ribble Valley. Ian enjoyed his cars and rode several motorbikes over the years. He also watched national rugby and boxing when televised. He loved home cooked food and eating out with Janet at Checcos of Great Harwood. Husband to the late Janet, father to Jane and Sarah, grandad to Thomas and Nathan, father-in-law to Wayne, older brother to the late Barry Meller. Younger brother to Les Meller, son of the late Alan and Nellie Meller of Rising Bridge. His funeral will take place on Tuesday, December 13 at Accrington Crematorium at 10.20am, conducted by David Ireland. Family flowers only, donations to North West Air Ambulance Charity.
