MICHAEL SUMMERTONMichael Summerton, who died on 16 June, 2009, was an agent to actors, singers and dancers and also a former actor.
As a young man, Rochdale-born Summerton acted in pantomimes and was one of the original Daleks in TV’s Doctor Who in 1963.
Of the cramped Dalek ‘costumes’ he later said: "When the lid went on I knew my career as an actor was over."
He then joined the agency of Hazel Malone who represented the likes of Richard O'Sullivan, Susan George, Gretchen Franklin, Diana Dors, Roy Barraclough and a young David Bowie.
He set up his own firm, Michael Summerton Management, in the 1970s and represented soap actors such as Lesley Joseph and Noele Gordon, dance troupes like Hot Gossip and pop acts including Sinitta, Bonnie Langford and the Beverley Sisters.
He later came to specialise in managing dancers and choreographers, including Strictly Come Dancing judges Arlene Phillips and Bruno Tonioli.

It was a pleasure to have played in your company and enjoyed a few laughs .

good times by alan reid

Your star shines the brightest.
Much loved, sadly missed, never forgotten.
Whatever else we fail to do,
We never fail to think of you.
Memories are a gift to treasure,
Mine of you will last forever.
You fought so hard and now you
are so sadly missed.
The happy times that we enjoyed,
How sweet the memory still,
But death has left a vacant place,
this world can never fill.
Though your smile is gone forever
And your hand we cannot touch,
we shall never lose sweet memories,
Of you we loved so much. Malcolm
