FredaMIDDLETONMrs Freda Middleton, of New Bury Close, Stanhill, Oswaldtwistle sadly passed away in the comfort of her own home on Saturday, February 27, at the age of 84, following a long hard battle with COPD. Freda was born and raised in Blackpool by her parents Frederick and Florence Hollinrake, along with her sister Marjorie, until she met and married her husband of 62 years, Frank. They eventually moved to Oswaldtwistle where they settled to raise their family. She will be greatly missed by her husband Frank, her children Derek, Ray, Keith and Alison, daughters-in-law Hilary and Tracy, son-in-law Dee and Karl, her much loved grandchildren Morgan, Jack, Francis and, Abi and great-grandsons Freddie and George. Freda also leaves her beloved Shih-Tzu George. Freda was especially proud of her family and really enjoyed spending time with them all as well as her friends. She retired from the job she loved in her role as an office administrator at Joseph Metcalfe Ltd. This gave her more time to enjoy her many interests. She loved travelling all around the UK with Frank and their many dogs over the years with their touring caravan, until they found their second home at Moss Wood Caravan Park in Cockerham. Freda was also a ‘lady who lunched’, and every week she spent the day with her long time and closest friend Jill and her friend Joan. Freda was a keen gardener and they loved to visit garden centres and places of local interest. She also enjoyed going to the theatre - especially to see the musicals. She had a wide taste in music, but a particular love of rock and roll. She loved crosswords, puzzles and jigsaws, and was an avid reader. Freda will be sadly missed by all who loved and knew her. A private cremation will be held on Friday, March 12 at 11.40am at Accrington Crematorium. Family flowers only, but donations welcome in Freda’s memory to either of her preferred charities, The North West Air Ambulance or the RSPCA Altham c/o Mr. F Middleton, c/o Oswaldtwistle Funeral Services, 235 Union Road, Oswaldtwistle, BB5 3HU.

What an amazing lady and mum you are Freda Middleton. Probably the most lovely caring and selfless person I have ever met. Very kind and thoughtful yet open and frank at the same time.
I had the honour of calling you mum for many many years and you were my closest confident and friend.
I just wish I could have told you this years ago but that wasn’t to be. So I say it now Freda, I loved you then from the bottom of my heart and thank you for all you did for me.
May you rest in peace sweet lady.
