Who was Robert (Bobb) Miller to me

Bobb was a Friend, Mentor, and fellow brother in arms.
Bobb first joined the U.S. Air Force in May of 1957 until October 1951 then ETSed (Enlisted time served). In August 1959 he decided to Join the U.S. Army at Fort Ord, California and then retired from the Army after 16 years’ service in AUG 1975 at Wurzburg FRG. He and the family then moved to Mavis’s home land Abergele North Wales where he enjoyed his retirement.
I first met Bobb way back in 1973 or 74, I was stationed at Emery Barracks, Wurzburg FRG. Bobb was assigned to the Military Police CID unit, in Wurzburg FRG. Bobb’s wife Mavis worked as the Liberian at the recreation center on Emery Barracks, Their Daughter Lynn also worked at the Recreation Center. Like a lot of soldiers, the Recreation Center was an intricate part of our lives. Back then I was a novice photographer, I loved taking pictures, The Recreation center had a Photo lab and I decided to try processing my own photographs, that’s where Bobb Really came into my life, when I had problems or questions, he was there to help me or provide advice. There was numerous times I would go with him to take pictures then back to the lab to develop and print our photographs.
I was only 19-20 years old, the first time away from home Bobb and Mavis in a way became my surrogate parents. If I was having issues they were there to lean on and talk to. We became very close friends; Bobb will be missed dearly. RIP Bobb friends like you are few and far between.
