Irene JoannaMILLERBorn one of 4 Kennedy children in Thornhill, Scotland sadly passed away peacefully at home in Plymouth on 25th July 2024.

She had married Robin in 1962. They felt privileged to have adopted 3 children - Iain, Richard and Helen who, together with grandchildren Danielle, Olivia, Keauno, Izzy, Alisya, Chris and along with great grandchildren Jasper and Ava, were able to comfort her.

She was lucky to have so many friends who cherished her warm and friendly smiles. A kind person who enjoyed her year as Lady Mayoress with Claude as Lord Mayor.

The kindness shown by the medical staff and support workers at Derriford and Mount Gould hospitals gave great encouragement and we are grateful to them.

The funeral will be held at Efford Crematorium at 11.30am on Wednesday 7th August. Family flowers only. Donations in her memory are welcome for High View School (to upgrade the Nursery/Foundation Garden) Cheques are to be made payable to Learning Academies Trust and sent care of the Funeral Directors or online at wyattbrothers.co.uk

To my beautiful Nanny,

Now that you have gained your angel wings, you can take your rightful place in heaven. 🪽

Your smile and kindness will never be forgotton.

I will forever love and miss you.

Danielle. 🩷

We have chosen High View School as our charity because Nanny was a teacher and very much enjoyed this role throughout her working life.
Nanny helped many schools around Plymouth by donating and volunteering as she loved children and the teaching environment. The Nursery/Foundation garden is used consistently by the children all year round and needs a little upgrade. It is their favourite place to learn and play.

Helping to improve children's lives for the future would have made Nanny proud. 🩷
