Margaret JuneMITCHELL (nee Bell)Born 3rd June 1934 in Darlington, passed away peacefully at home in Farnborough on 29th July 2022. Margaret was brought up in a 'house filled with music' and loved singing and attending musical performances when able. A champion hurdler in her younger days she transferred her love of sport to avidly following and watching tennis, athletics and Grand Prix amongst and other things. Brought up in a Methodist household, Margaret was an active member of the North Camp Methodist Church for over 40 years and was a popular History teacher. Throughout her long career, Margaret taught at schools in Yorkshire, Bermuda, Streatham, and Camberley, most recently at Elmhurst Ballet School. She endured many years of pain and disability from rheumatoid arthritis but her sharp intellectual mind, aptitude for quiz shows and love of reading, particularly of detective mysteries, kept her busy until her final years. She will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren and other friends and family having survived her husband, Christopher, by some 17 years. Service of thanksgiving and remembrance will take place on Thursday 18th August at North Camp Methodist Church at 2.30pm. Please contact Ford Mears and Partners for details. Tel: 01252 549335
