It is so sad that I lost my friend, Collin. I first met him at U3a when we were doing family history, and the four of us, Collin, Paulene, Stuart and myself became good friends. When I became ill a few years ago Collin helped me.
When it was my seventieth birthday we went out for a meal at Vivo’s, and I went out with him on outings and spent time at his home where we watched films and football.
I will always remember the times we spent together, and my friend Collin will be missed very much.
Your friend,
John Bate.

So sad to have lost my best friend Collin. A generous and compassionate man who often gave more to others than himself. A hard worker, who fought hard to look after his family and help his workmates.
Fond memories of the outings we had together, debates "putting the world to rights" , quiz nights at The Carpenter's Arms, etc and helping you find your little companion, River. She is safe in my hands, and I will do my best to give her the love and care you would want her to have. Miss you so much, but hopefully I will find you one day singing with your lovely voice in heaven. You deserve you be there. With love, your friend, Paulene xxx
