MervynMITCHELLMervyn Mitchell, of Pentire, closed his eyes for the last time on Monday 7th of October 2024 aged 82. He died in peace with his beloved wife Rachel, son Martin and daughter Ruth, by his bedside while in sight of his Village Green, Fistral beach and the ocean beyond. Mervyn grew up in Portsmouth with his sister Wendy and brother Paul. He was a much respected civil engineer, local campaigner and artist. Along with this, he was also a beloved husband, father, grandfather and family man. He will be greatly missed for his love, tenacity, and distinctly Mervyn humour by all who knew and loved him.

He will leave The Greens by Fistral steps for the final time from 10:30 am on the morning of Monday, 21st of October. All are welcome to the funeral service, which will be held at 11:00 am at St Michael's Church, St Michael's Rd, Newquay. This will be followed by a private interment. Refreshments with family, friends, neighbours and workmates - past and present - at The Esplanade Hotel, Pentire, from 1pm. All should feel very welcome. Donations to Salvation Army / Leprosy Mission can be made online via the Memory Giving website, by retiring collection or sent c/o R. J.
