Mr Moffat was a quiet man, who had the ability to get through to most of us, of barely average intelligence, and help us to learn important issues in the classroom. He did rule the class with an iron rod, but had an 'aura' about him that commanded respect. He is my most respected and most remembered teacher of my schooldays, and will be sadly missed.
My sincere condolences to all who were close to him at this sad passing.

Robert Moffat was my teacher at Francis Coombe SM School in Watford between 1958 and 1963. He was an inspiration to me and helped me to achieve success in athletics that would otherwise have passed me by. He also taught my children. I owe him a lot and have kept in touch over the years. He will be greatly missed by all of us who's lives he has touched. Rest in Peace.
