SusanMOORHOUSEMrs Susan Patricia Moorhouse nee Sagar, of Lime Road, Accrington, passed away suddenly at home on Tuesday, December 29, aged 72. During her life, her first job was working at a local solicitor’s office on Cannon Street as a receptionist clerk. Then she went on to be a housewife to look after and raise her children. In her later years, she went to work for Hyndburn Transport Services as an information officer, which became the local Tourist Information Centre in Accrington. Finally, she became a ticket office assistant at Just The Ticket in Accrington, from where she took early retirement to be able to look after her mother Hilda and the rest of her family, which by this time had grown to include her late brother’s children. In her spare time, Susan loved nothing more than spending time with her family, especially her grandsons, looking after her numerous pets, baking, a skill she inherited from her parents, gardening, and, most of all, cruising around the Caribbean in the winter months with her husband and friends. Susan also enjoyed meeting up with old school friends and neighbours at the local keep fit and dance classes in Accrington. In her early days, she used to attend services at Whalley Road United Reformed Church with her mother, and this also became the place where Susan married her much loved husband of over 52 years. Susan leaves behind her loving husband Derek, her son Neil, her daughter Melissa and her partner Andrew, her adored grandsons Benjamin, Alexander, Daniel and Patrick. Susan also leaves behind her niece Emma, her husband Sam, her nephew Matthew and his wife Amanda, together with her family from Bridlington, Philip, Stephen, Sarah, and their children Zachary and Cordelia. Susan will be dearly missed by all those who loved and knew her. Her funeral will take place on Thursday, January 14, at 1pm at Accrington Crematorium. Family flowers only please, but donations will be gratefully received in memory of Susan to RSPCA Lancashire East.
