My fond memories of Roses Dad, “Mr Morris” are on the terraces watching Stoke play. He took Rose and I to all the home games and even the away matches for many seasons. Parking at the Michelin and walking in all weathers to the old Victoria ground. Putting up with two stroppy teenagers! The match analysis back at home over tea. A lovely lovely man who clearly adored his family and who also clearly adored him. May he rest in peace x

I remember Donald as a clever and talented man. Always interested and interesting with a very dry sense of humour. His talent for photography was to be envied - and he always had time to share his knowledge. He was a kind and peaceful man.

I heard the news about Don with great sadness. He was such a warm, calm yet quietly witty man. I have some fabulous memories, and a debt I owe to Don of introducing me to the beauty of printing my own photographic prints. The enclosed photograph shows the box Don gave me to take my first prized prints home, the scissors and coins he used to show the basics of how the photographic process worked and my first B&W prints. It was only later that I appreciated the importance of some of his photographs that he took of the heritage of Stoke-on-Trent. His walks around Stoke in the 60's and 70's were a vital record of Stoke's Victorian industrial past. So much of it has now disappeared and Don had an appreciation and the and foresight to capture it before it was gone forever - a rare attitude at the time. I hope the City Museum and Art Gallery stage a retrospective of his work which would be the most fitting memorial of his life's passion.
