The obituary notice of John Peter MORTEN

I met Peter over 25 years ago at DW gym. We got on well and I found him cheeky and generous. At that time I was spending hours travelling to many hospitals with my daughter and Peter offered his Chauffeuring skills should we ever require it. We continued our friendship when I left DW and would bump into each other in Sainsburys where we’d right the world over a coffee.
I remember Peter telling me he met his lovely wife Enid at work as Peter was a chauffeur to Enid’s boss.
Golf and his car were also his passion and so he introduced Enid to golf. I truly believe he underestimated his little wife as she turned out to be a natural and captained the ladies team, not that Peter would have been envious of her position I bet?
Peter enjoyed the gym and the company that brought him with like minded people. I recall him all those years ago introducing himself to me and saying,”if you’re planning on losing that backside it’s not going to happen.” How right he was as it’s still following me behind, haha
I was deeply saddened to hear of your passing and I’m sorry I can’t attend your funeral but I will most certainly be thinking of you.
