JamesMUIROn 23rd May 2019 peacefully in the Alexandra Unit after a short illness, James (Jim) Muir of Closeburn, formerly of Langmyre, Thornhill, beloved husband of Penny and much loved and respected dad of Duncan and Alistair. Service at Closeburn Church on Monday 3rd June at 12.00 noon followed by interment in Closeburn Cemetery. All friends are respectfully invited to attend. Family flowers only please. Donations if desired for Closeburn Church and Thornhill Health Centre will be gratefully received in memory of Jim.

Just heard of Jim's passing yesterday. Please accept my sincere condolances. It seems a life cut short. Jim was in the same class at Wallace Hall. Always a central figure in our year, every morning recounting the jokes and yarns of Sanderson, who collected the milk at Ballagon, and Jim shared for our entertainment. Happy days!!

Very sad to hear of Jim's death. We were classmates at Wallace Hall Academy for six years and played many games of football alongside each other. I am not able to pay my respects directly at the funeral, but condolences to all.
