Very late tribute as I've only just happened upon Mr Mullens obituary. Mr Mullen was my English teacher at St Peters (I was a pupil 1984-89). To this day, if I'm reading on Kindle & I don't know what a word means I will use the inbuilt dictionary to check- it always makes me think of Mr Mullen (now somewhat easier than flicking through a physical dictionary in class in the 1980s). He helped me to be curious & enjoy reading. My older & younger sister also attended St Peters & remember him fondly. RiP Mr Mullen

We apologise for our very late, yet no less sincere Condolences to you Marian & all of the Family. On the very sad passing of Patrick.
May he rest in eternal Peace.
We last met you before Covid 19, at Knock airport. Johnny was more familiar with Patrick 🙏 his Sister Kathleen who lives in Walsgrave in Coventry is familiar with yourself Marian.
My Mother and my Uncle, Jim Ruane, were from Doontas Killasser. My ‘go to’ Homestead from early childhood until our Marriage 1971.
Remembering you in our prayers

Mr Mullen was a very special person to me and to my family. His kindness, encouragement and compassion, both as teacher and friend, left a lasting imprint on our lives. I'm so grateful that we knew him - he came to feel like family and will be greatly missed. It's the mark of a great life well lived that he leaves behind so many people who loved him and whose lives are the better for knowing him. My heartfelt best wishes go out to Marion, Enda, the girls and all the family. May he rest in peace.
