JoyceMURPHYOn Thursday, March 25, after a short illness, Joyce Murphy, of Fern Terrace, Haslingden sadly passed away at Royal Blackburn Hospital, aged 85. Joyce was the beloved wife of Gordon and doting mum to David; she also leaves her sister Dorothy and husband Michael, niece Susan and family, nephew Andrew and family. Joyce was born in Helmshore, living on Brooklands Avenue until moving to Haslingden when she married her husband of nearly 60 years, Gordon. Up until her retirement, Joyce worked at Espleys Chemists in Haslingden. She loved her garden and enjoyed flower arranging, baking and until recently, she had enjoyed attending and participating in activities at St James Church in Haslingden. Anyone who knew Joyce would say she was a lovely lady and she truly was, never having a bad word to say about anyone. She will be greatly missed and forever in the hearts of all her family and friends. A service will be held at St James Church, Haslingden on Tuesday, April 13 at 1.30pm, followed by a committal at Accrington Crematorium, officiated by Fr. David Stephenson.
