JeanNAYLORpassed away after a short illness on Sunday, January 24, aged 91. Jean was born in Rossendale and attended Western and later BRGS Schools. She worked as a WPC in Southport from 1953, before marrying and moving to London, and later Strathaven in Scotland. In 1976 she moved back to Stacksteads with her two children, Fiona and David. In her younger years, Jean was a member of Bacup amateur dramatics, performing in a variety of productions. She was also an active member of Stacksteads Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday School Teacher. Later, Jean worked for eight years as a popular lollipop lady and attended Acre Mill Baptist Church, where she was a member of the choir and flower arranger. She volunteered for the Talking Newspapers and worked in the Oxfam shop in Bacup for many years. She enjoyed knitting, gardening and holidays with her best friend Joan. Jean leaves her daughter Fiona, son David, son-in-law Stephen, grandchildren Laura and Sam and their partners, great granddaughter Lucy, brother-in-law Tom, and niece Andrea. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, February 10 at Acre Mill Baptist Church, followed by cremation at Burnley Crematorium.
