Kathleen MavisNEWBYDied peacefully at home on Wednesday 17th May aged 96 years. Wife of the late Arthur and dearly loved mother of Paul, Ruth and Michael. Dearly loved grandmother of Dominic and Joseph, Edward, William and Simon, Peter, Robert, Luke and Grace and auntie to Nigel and Angela. Mavis was a respected teacher of many years' standing and a good friend to many. For most of her life, she was a regular attender and strong supporter of Wheatley Methodist Chapel. There will be a private family burial with Dad at Retford Cemetery and then a Service of Thanksgiving for her life at North Wheatley Church on Thursday 6th July at 2pm followed by refreshments. Anyone who would like to attend is welcome to do so. Arrangements are to be made by Hurtons. Mavis asked for donations in her memory for the Church in North Wheatley and Grove Street Methodist Church.
