I am very sorry to read of the passing of Ray Nichols- I was immensely fond of Ray (and also of Joan), and always enjoyed our chats and exchange of cards after we left Almondbury. But what an inspiring and full life he lived, so much service to his church and his community, and without him Almondbury would be a lesser place. Rest in peace Raymond, richly deserved. With thanks from Val Wilkinson (formerly Bridger) and daughters.

I am very sad to read of the passing of Ray Nichols- I was immensely fond of him, as I was of Joan, and enjoyed our chats when possible. But what a life well lived, with so much of his skills and time given to the Almondbury community. Rest in peace Raymond- it is richly deserved. With grateful thanks from Val Wilkinson (formerly Bridger) and daughters.

A great man who did so much for the communities wherever he lived,a kind lovely but strict man whom we will never forget Rest in Peace Ray, you did so much for every one ,especially as captain of the Brigade and I believe, the community cafe in Almondbury. Always in our thoughts from Peter And Ann Smith
