RaymondNICHOLSOn June 15th 2022 Peacefully at Calderdale Royal Hospital Raymond aged 94 years of Almondbury. Beloved husband of the late Joan, much loved dad of David and Malcolm, dear father-in-law of Jackie and Gillian, dearly loved grandad of Jenny and David, Kate and Stuart, Rebecca and David, Tom and Lucy and great grandad of Isabelle. Service of Thanksgiving will be held at Almondbury Methodist Church on Wednesday July 13th at 12.15pm. Family flowers only please donations if so desired would be gratefully received for Cancer Research and The British Heart Foundation. A plate will be available in church. I am very sorry to read of the passing of Ray Nichols- I was immensely fond of Ray (and also of Joan), and always enjoyed our chats and exchange of cards after we left Almondbury. But what an inspiring and full life he lived, so much service to his church and his community, and without him Almondbury would be a lesser place. Rest in peace Raymond, richly deserved. With thanks from Val Wilkinson (formerly Bridger) and daughters.

I am very sad to read of the passing of Ray Nichols- I was immensely fond of him, as I was of Joan, and enjoyed our chats when possible. But what a life well lived, with so much of his skills and time given to the Almondbury community. Rest in peace Raymond- it is richly deserved. A great man who did so much for the communities wherever he lived,a kind lovely but strict man whom we will never forget Rest in Peace Ray, you did so much for every one ,especially as captain of the Brigade and I believe, the community cafe in Almondbury.
