DavidNICHOLSONIt is with deep sadness that the family announce the death of David, who passed away peacefully whilst in the care of Ashlea Court Care Home, Waltham on Thursday, 11th October 2023 aged 93 years. Former Peaks Lane Primary teacher, Waltham Parish and Cleethorpes Councillor and former chairman of Waltham Windmill Preservation Society. David was the loving Husband of Sheila, a dearly loved Dad of Louise and Brian, Father-in-Law of Paul and Lesley, a treasured Grandad to Vicki, and a very dear Friend to all. A service to celebrate the life of David will be held at All Saints Church, High Street, Waltham on Monday, 6th November 2023, at 11am followed by a private committal in Waltham Parish Cemetery. Family flowers only but if so desired, donations may be made in lieu of St Andrews Hospice or Waltham Windmill Preservation Society or given on the day of the service in David's memory.

I have nothing but fond memories and great respect for my teacher of old. A great and interesting man who even at my young age felt he really did want to get the best out of us all. Truly the best teacher I ever had. My heart goes out to Brian, Louise and family. RIP Sir X Lee Gilby
