Happy 21st birthday my little sleeping beauty
It's 20 years since I wrote this poem for your 1st birthday.
If I see a rainbow up above
I still know that you have painted it
for me with all of your love.
When I watch the stars twinkle at night
I know you are the one still shining bright
and I whisper to you goodnight
my darling Kirsty Ellen.
When it rains I know
cousin Tony is splashing about
with you in the paddling pool
and you are thinking what a silly old fool
when I see the rays coming from the sun
I think of you having lots of fun.
I still pray for my dreams to soon come true
so I can be playing in heaven with you.
Keep being good for your granny and granda
see you all again soon
