JoanNUTTALLMuch loved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend, Mrs Joan Nuttall, of Helmshore Road, Haslingden, died peacefully at home on Monday, December 16, aged 72, surrounded by her family. Joan lived in Haslingden all her life. She attended Haslingden Secondary Modern until she started work at HM Inspectors of Taxes, and went on to work for Pendle Travel, which later became Airtours Holidays. Later, she ran her own card shop 'Accolade' in Helmshore before working as a book keeper for Casino Promotions, Helmshore. Joan was very sociable and would happily arrange a social gathering, always catering an excellent buffet. She attended various night courses, learning interior design and silk painting to name a few. She also enjoyed knitting and sewing, making clothes for herself and her daughters. Joan loved spending weekends in Grasmere with family and close friends. She had a wonderful sense of humour and was extremely quick witted. Nothing anyone asked of her was ever too much trouble. She leaves husband Steve, daughters Joanne and Lisa, grandchildren George, Arthur and Agatha, sisters Barbara and Dorothy, brothers-in-law Gerald and Stuart and nephew Oliver and niece Casey. Her funeral was held on Monday, December 30, at Accrington Crematorium.
