Uncle David, your memory will forever occupy a special place in our hearts. The stories you told during my childhood, often animated by the playful antics of two plastic sprites, Pixie and Dixie, are treasures I will always hold dear. You approached every challenge with remarkable grace and a sense of humour, especially that unforgettable day when you found out Simon had decided to change the time on every clock in your room! Your laughter was truly one of a kind.
One of my most cherished memories is from an Easter Sunday when I was about six years old. You walked into the room with a Polaroid camera, and as a child of the 70s, I was utterly fascinated! You settled me on my dad’s lap, a Crème Egg in hand, and captured the moment. As the photo developed, you encouraged me to shake it and blow on it, and watching that image come to life was nothing short of magical! That photo remains a beloved keepsake for us.
Your kindness has always shone through, and my admiration for you will never fade. You faced your battle with dignity and courage, and I hope you have finally found peace.
Love always
