JoanOAKESJOAN OAKES (aka Joan the Avon Lady)

Joan, formerly from Elmay Road, Sheldon. Sadly passed away 24th October 2024, at Heartlands Care and Nursing Home, aged 98. Wife to Leslie Oakes (deceased 2004) and mother to Keith Oakes (deceased 2012). Joan leaves behind loving family, Grandson Russell, younger sister Edna, daughter-in-law Anita, and many nephews and nieces.

Joan was well known in the Sheldon and Yardley area as the Avon Lady, serving customers in those areas for almost 50 years, she will no doubt be remembered fondly by many.

Funeral service will be held at Yardley Cemetery on Tuesday 19th November at 1 p.m.

Flowers welcome (deliver to W.H Painters Funeral Directors, Yardley) or donations, in Joan's memory, would be gratefully received by the Alzheimer's Society via www.alzheimers.org.uk
