Dan was a great friend to our family and best mates with my father Michael. He would invariably bring a smile; lots of positivity and bundles of his own made soda bread which we had lapped up in moments. A big man with a big heart, you could say, "not a bad bone in his body". Rest in Peace big fella.

My Uncle Donal was a kind, compassionate, witty, and wise man. According to my dad, he was the smartest mathematician in all of Ireland growing up, and according to Uncle Donal, he was the smartest in every subject in all of Ireland growing up! I will never forget the devilish smirk on his face as he said that. I am so grateful that my two daughters were able to meet him, and you too, Nuala, when you both were last here in America. It will always be a treasured memory for us. I hope that all of the wonderful memories that you have shared with your dad brings you comfort during this time of such grief.
