PeterO'DONNELLof Burnley Road East, Waterfoot passed away suddenly on Sunday, December 11, aged 82 years. Born in Whitworth, Peter was an engineering fitter and worked for Hall and Boyden for many years. He loved football all his life and enjoyed playing in Whitworth and Rochdale in his younger years. In his later years, Peter fondly visited his wife regularly at Olive House and was well known and liked by all the staff there. He loved attending the Rossendale Memory Choir each week where he made dear friends. He also attended the Haslingden Community Link Reminisce group and enjoyed all activities. He enjoyed going to the gym at Marl Pits Leisure centre taking part in ‘Up and Active’ sessions and taking his grandsons to swimming lessons. Peter was a devoted husband to Nina and loving father to Mark and Anne. He was a very proud and precious grandad to Sean and Oscar. Peter will be greatly missed. His funeral will take place on Thursday, January 5 when a Requiem Mass will be held at St Peter’s RC Church, Newchurch at 10.15am conducted by Fr Simon Stamp followed by a service and committal at Burnley Crematorium at 11.30am.
