Mary MargaretO'KANEPassed away peacefully on the 17th July 2023, aged 91 years. Mary was a Paediatric Nurse, formerly of Glasgow Southern General Hospital, Griffith's Ward in Gulson Road Hospital, Coventry and B5 in Walsgrave Hospital, Coventry. Beloved wife of John and mother to Bernard, Sharon, Christopher and Paula. Grandmother to Louis, David and Michael. Great grandmother to Lacie, Harmonie and Sienna. She will be sadly missed. Special thanks to the staff of the University Hospital Coventry's Cardiac and Stroke Units; whose great skills and care are inestimable. Also for the great care received at Perry Manor Care Home where Mary resided very happily for her final 20 months. Reception into Christ the King RC Church on Thursday 17th August at 6:00pm. Requiem Mass to be held on Friday 18th August at 11:00am followed by burial in Lenton's Lane Cemetery. Family flowers only please but donations if desired for The British Heart Foundation and The Stroke Association may be sent via Funeral Notices at www.ajlloyd.co.uk or placed in the donation box at the service. Mary nursed our son Paul many times in the 80s and was much respected by us for all the support and friendship that she gave us. Paul adored her for her wicked sense of humour and straight talking.
Sometimes hard on the outside but soft and loving on the inside.
A heart of gold has stopped beating.
Condolences to the family.
Rest in Peace Mary.
