We were never particular friends David as you were the year above me, but I was mates with Andy, so know of you well and of your family rivalry between Derby and Forest! I feel for your family's loss and hope that time is a healer for you all. It's always hard to hear that someone from schooldays has passed and as someone else has said, it really does show that time moves on and we all get older and will have that appointment one day. Rest well.

Big Pagey- What can I say. We were the fellow Nottingham Forest supporters in a school full of Leeds fans and the odd D……y supporter!! Centre passage one day you ran off with my Forest scarf and I shouted …….. give me my scarf back as Mr Rothwell, who wasn’t my greatest supporter, walked out of the staff room and promptly gave me gating!!

Despite being in the year above me at Ackworth school, David befriended me. We had some crazy times together climbing out of the washroom windows at night to go exploring and getting up to mischief! Although we sadly drifted apart after leaving, he’s always had a special place in my heart as someone who helped me through some dark days that this 11 year old boy found difficult. Thank you Pagey, thank you.

David, you were my brother and friend. You were there at a time when others were absent. You spoke up when injustice occurred. You did not judge, belittle, and all the time were fighting your own battles.
