It was a privilege to attend my friend and good comrade's funeral, Dr Brian Parkin. Sunflowers and a splash of red where the order of the day and his wee granddaughter even had Sunflowers in her hair.

Edinburgh was his last home, Leeds was where he came from. His family are a credit to him and it was great to meet them today at Warriston Crematorium.

The Greater Glasgow Electrical, Mechanical and Plumbing Branch of Unite the Union were honoured to call Brian our friend and comrade.

RIP brother, rest in peace.......rest in power✊️

Brian was and will remain an inspiration to me and many more. He never failed to confront injustice and to fight for a socialist future.
