I am very sorry to learn of Mary’s passing and I want to send my condolences to her friends and family. We first talked nearly 40 years ago, she in Manchester and me in Glasgow. A few years later when I was visiting her company she insisted that I stay with her and Derek overnight instead of using a hotel. After that, even though I left the company, we stayed in touch with letters inside Christmas cards, holiday postcards and she always sent me a birthday card in January. I thought something was wrong when Mary’s card didn’t arrive at the beginning of December. Hers was always the first heralding good wishes. She was a good friend and I shall miss her very much. God bless Mary xx
