MarionPARRMarion sadly passed away at her home on Wednesday 6th December 2023, surrounded by her loving family and close friends.

Born in Lossiemouth, Scotland on 11th June 1941 and returning to Accrington following the demob from the Royal Airforce of her Father Malan Walsh.

After moving to Huncoat and raising 3 strapping boys she joined the the infamous "ten pound Pom's", emigrating to Australia in 1969 with her husband Alan Parr, leaving all her family and friends behind.

Then after 41 years down under she returned to Accrington after a short time in France and reconnected with family and old school pals whilst making many new great friends along the way.

Marion leaves behind in Australia, 3 sons, Stephen, Martyn and Darren as well as 9 grandchildren and 3 Great grandchildren who she always sorely missed. She leaves behind in the UK her brother and 2 sisters in law and some great loving friends both old and new.

Her life and career in Australia was wide and varied from taking in sewing work while living in a hostel with many other emigrants to hospital management and latterly working with an orthopaedic surgeon.

Marion was an avid artist with a real passion for painting and really enjoyed her time spent with her craft class and artistic friends.

The funeral service, followed by a cremation will be held at Accrington Crematorium on Tuesday January 2nd at 1pm, then to the Whitaker's Arms, Burnley Road, Accrington.

Family flowers only please with donations if so desired to Cancer Research UK c/o
