Today I tried to contact Meurig to attend the official opening of the cancer Centre in Mountain Ash to find out that he has passed away, it’s devastating news. Meurig helped us in so many ways to start a volunteer transport service for families travelling to cancer treatment . Meurig was a dear friend of the charity and through his help and support local families whose lives are touched by cancer have independence and a means of getting to their treatment .
Sending our condolences to the family . Friends from Rowan Tree Cancer Care x

Just found out about Meurig and it's shocking news. I created a film about the campaign to save the Rydfellin library which Meurig features prominently in as a strong leader who was passionate about saving that building. I would like to share that film here for everyone to see how incredible he was and I hope it shows what an influence he is to show that anyone can stand up for what they believe in and succeed. Here's a link to the film https://vimeo.com/107907139

I'm so sorry to hear this this extremely sad news.
Even though we worked together for about 5 years it wasn't until I hit a tricky patch in the organisation that I really got to know Meurig. He was an enormous support and helped me so very much at this time. And it was during this time that we really got to know eachother better going out to different locations for coffee and cake - we always had cake🙂

Then when I was working in Cardiff we would often meet for lunch at Coffee Heaven and put the world to rights.

I enjoyed very much his company and friendship. He was a good man.
