Sadly passed away, peacefully, on Sunday 14th April 2024, aged 91 years, at Gloucester Royal Hospital.
John grew up in South Petherton, working initially at Yandles Sawmills in Martock, and then as a carpenter and general builder, prior to joining the Dept of the Environment at Yeovilton Air Station.
John had a lifelong love of brass and military bands, and was widely respected as a euphonium and tuba player.
After retirement John and his late wife Loretta moved to Cheltenham to be nearer their son Nick and his family.
The funeral service will be held at St Martin de Tours Church in Woolstone, GL52 9RG near Cheltenham on Friday 3rd May 2024 at 1.00pm.
