Christine MargaretPERRYChristine, who formerly worked at the Co-Op in Oxford Street, Nazareth House and Heatherslade Homes, died on Thursday 6th August 2026 at home in 46, Longacre, Murton. Her husband, Larry, was present when she died. Her 85th birthday would have been on 26th August 2026. Christine was married to Larry for 59 years. She is survived by Larry, her three sons, Andrew, Simon and David, and their respective families. Christine, who was from Townhill contracted TB at 12 years old and recuperated for 3 and a half years at the Adelina Patti Sanatorium in Craig y Nos. Having had various respiratory issues throughout her life, she finally succumbed to the condition. Happily, her demise was short, peaceful and at home. 'A Farewell to the Village' will be celebrated at Murton Methodist Church at 3pm on Wednesday 2nd September. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at St Benedict's Church, Sketty, at 11:15am on Thursday 3rd September. There will be no public cremation and her cremated remains will be interred in Danygraig Cemetery at a future date. Dress is requested to be formal. No flowers or donations are required.
