The obituary notice of David John PETTMAN

A family friend for over 55years, Dave helped my mum when Dad went missing due to his dementia. Helped rescue me, mum and my 5 year old twins when we were stranded in New Brighton after the Tall Ships in the Mersey. Then the past few years visiting us on the Isle of Wight and sharing a pint with Lionel then after his death visiting and doing repairs in the house and garden with Richard. A genuinely good guy, I’ll miss you Dave, at least you’re home with Val.

Only got to know you for a short time Dave. It didn't take me long to see that you were a kind,warm hearted,courteous and generous man who had worked hard his whole life.

Just starting to get to know you was a pleasure, myself and my mum will be forever grateful for everything you have done for us.

We will always remember you with great fondness.

Rest in peace.

To my wonderful Uncle Dave, I miss you and will continue to do so forever. You've been a fixture in my life since my day one. Your laugh and sense of humour were second to none and I shall pine for those terrible jokes you used to tell.... they always made my laugh despite myself. I will also miss the various debates we had over the years ... your intelligence, tolerance, kindness, generosity, and respect are things I shall always value and remember. Rest well, Dave.
