So Thou mumurest Thine intercession, Bidding me look up, and trust, and live

Abiding memory of Mal & Dad in St James' the Less Newport Rd, Good Friday in abt 1976 sun streaming through the stained-glass rehearsing The Crucifixion, as they'd done so many times over the years. When they started "So Thou liftest Thy divine petition" people stopped fussing with the stands and copies and cables to just stop & listen, his voice still sweet and true. They knew each other so well but never coasted, always made it an occasion. Musical to his fingertips, a real pro and a gentleman.
