Was talking to my wife about male primary school teachers as our sons school in Kent has just had its first, which brought me here after thinking about Mr Philips. I was always fond of him. He was a lovely man. He ran the Speed Swimming club for Mount Charles School in the 90s. He was a great coach and always inspired me to do better. I wasn’t good at much else. He was a kind man and had a great sense of humour. May he rest in peace.

Mr Phillips was a lovely teacher and person. I was lucky to have been taught by him, at Mt Charles school many years ago.
