We were fortunate enough to have done our National Service with Freddie in The Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry in the 1950’s and also in later years in The West Cornwall Light Infantry Association.
Freddie was a great comrade and friend, as well as a really good footballer.
We well remember watching him play at Centre Half for England in their match against Bermuda on our Regimental football ground in Bermuda.
Peter Rule, Keith Mannings and Barry Cornish.
