Well John you only got to see the tributes that people have written about you, they all got the same common denominator and that's fishing and hunting. You were very good at both and Jake and Jamie and myself have some memories of our time in Lyswerny fishing with you and your chair blowing into the lake it's not possible to repeat what you said but those who knew you would know what you said.
I also have fond memories of us all growing up in the valleys and once a year on a boxing day descending on Charles St in Porth, still baffles me how we all fitted in there.
I remember my ride in your Ford Capri in the early 70's I thought it was brilliant so much so I had one myself in the 80's when I passed my test.
You were always great company and spending time with you was an honour and I will never forget.

Sad day but fond memories of a good neighbour and friend. We will cherish his stories from his days in the coal mining industry and later in driving instruction. There was always a good story from his days hunting and fishing. He enjoyed many exotic and extended holidays with Margaret and a happy retirement in Rhoose. May he rest in peace. Ceri and Gerry.

Dear Dad,

It’s hard to put into words how much you’ll be missed, I’ll carry your memory with me in everything I do.

I’ll forever remember our fishing trips, the times you took me hunting, your many tomato plants our lovely family meals in the Highwayman and time spent with Myla 🐾 in your beautiful garden.

I find comfort and strength in our memories and i’m grateful for all the life lessons you taught me.
Thank you for being such an incredible father and friend.
I miss you deeply, and I will keep your memory alive in my heart always.

With all my love,

Jonathan x

It was a pleasure to have met John. He was great fun to be in his company.
We will miss his yearly inspection of our garden (which didn’t always pass) and the tips he gave.
I’m sure he is still humming a tune in heaven.
Condolences to Margaret, Joanne, Jonathan, Poppy, Chris, Jordana and all John’s relatives.xx
Always remembered,
Mary and Owen
