PHYLLIS GERSHONPassed away in Bedford Hospital South Wing on 21st January 2009, aged 89 years and will be sadly missed by Nigel her son, Caroline, his partner and Sandra Phyl's grandaughter. Phyl, a Conservative Bedfordshire County Councillor since May 1977, represented Kempston for four years and Harrold Division for twenty eight years. She served on numerous committees with particular interest in education. Phyl was affectionately known as a colourful local character and she had many special friends. The Funeral service will be held at Bedford Crematorium, Norse Road at 11.30am on Wednesday 4th February 2009. Donations preferred in lieu of flowers please. Cheques should be sent to Arnolds Funeral Service, 48 Roff Avenue, Bedford, MK41 7TE and payable to "St James's Place Foundations" to which a matching grant will be added, then distributed to numerous children's charities.
